BBC micro:bit V2 Controller Case + Detachable AAA Battery Holder

A controller-style home for micro:bit projects

Turn a bare BBC micro:bit V2 and its standard 2×AAA battery pack into a comfortable, self-contained handheld controller. The board shell protects the edges without hiding the display or buttons, while the battery holder slides on and off through a dovetail mount.

Functional design

• Controller-shaped grips sized around the BBC micro:bit V2 board
• Open access to the LED matrix, A/B buttons and edge connector
• Separate enclosure for the standard 2×AAA JST-PH battery pack
• Detachable dovetail mount keeps the battery pack with the controller
• Battery power-switch cutout remains accessible

Materials and colors

Black and White are printed in PLA Tough+ for added durability. Orange, Blue, Green, Red, Gray, Purple and Yellow are printed in standard PLA.

Need another color? Select Custom Color Request — 3+ Only and order at least three of this case. Availability will be confirmed before production; uncommon colors may add processing time.

Compatibility — read before ordering

The source photos verify fit with the BBC micro:bit V2 and the common 2×AAA battery pack with a JST-PH plug. Battery-pack molds and switch positions can vary, so compare your pack with the gallery before ordering. This is not an enclosure for a micro:bit accessory board or a different controller.

What is included

One printed micro:bit controller shell and one printed detachable battery-pack holder. BBC micro:bit, 2×AAA battery pack, batteries, cable and all electronics are not included.

Each case is printed to order. Minor layer lines, seams and small surface variations are normal characteristics of functional FDM 3D printing.

Production geometry is used without dimensional changes; where a source 3MF was converted to STL, geometry and millimeter scale were preserved. The source author credits the original controller-case design to Guillermo Melantoni (@melton3d); meub modified its fit and added the detachable dovetail battery holder.
